This blog is an open and frank (as frank as I can bear at least) account of my physical, emotional and cognitive experience of losing weight with the aid of a gastric band; and, having shed the weight, my efforts at weight maintenance and my experience of living as a slimmer woman.
Thanks BeBea for finding and commenting about my site, and hello from Seattle, USA! I read recently that here in the states, men only get 20% of the bariatric surgeries. There's obviously some kind of stigma us dudes face, like we're less of a man if we can't do it on our own. Found that stat interestin'. And the best of luck, you've only got 15 pounds to go, though we know that's not the end of the race - we have the rest of our lives to go!
I think it is similar over here in UK - most surgery is undertaken by women. There are increasing numbers of men though.
As for losing the weight not being the end - you can say that again! My struggle will definitely be maintaining my loss. I'm so very determined to do so though :)........
